Liberating Sunshine Creek "Top End" Northern Branch

This major restoration project focuses on rehabilitating the upper northern branch of Sunshine Creek, a critical ecological corridor within Upper Sunshine.
Stage 1 was successfully completed in 2025, with Melbourne Water committing to a multi-year partnership to support the long-term restoration of this significant bio-link. To date, Melbourne Water has contributed approximately $50,000 toward restoring this important habitat corridor.
Works include:
•    Woody Weed removal
•    Indigenous revegetation
•    Habitat enhancement
•    Creekline restoration
•    Biodiversity protection
•    Improving wildlife movement through connected habitat
This ongoing project is helping reconnect fragmented bushland and strengthen ecological resilience across the landscape.

Sunshine Reserve Conservation Group acknowledges the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters we work to protect.

 

We recognise their deep cultural, spiritual and environmental connection to Country, and honour the knowledge and stewardship that has cared for these landscapes since time immemorial.

 

We pay our respects to Elders past and present and remain committed to learning from and supporting First Nations voices in caring for Country.
